Assessing Qualifications replacing the A1 and A2

The new QCF Assessor suite of qualifications have now replaced the A1 and A2 assessor awards and the V1 internal verifier award. These practitioner qualifications are designed to support the assessment and quality assurance of all new QCF qualifications including:

  • Apprenticeships
  • Functional Skills
  • Technical certificates
  • NVQ's
  • Awards
  • Certificates
  • Diplomas

The majority of assessors will complete the Certificate (course 1), but TAQA qualifications can be undertaken in a number of combinations as described below; if you are still unsure which qualification you require after reading the information we have provided, please give us a call to discuss 01377 257222

Course 1 - The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (15 credit points) - £550.00 (fully inclusive)

This Certificate covers three units:

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
  • Unit 2 - Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (6 credits)
  • Unit 3 - Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits)

This qualification is for those who need to be qualified to use all the above listed assessment methods and gain the full assessing certificate.

Course Duration: - This Certificate can be achieved by participating in our five day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of work product evidence; your two learners will be provided.

Course 2 - The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessments (3 credits) - £327.00 (fully inclusive)

This award covers 1 unit of the Certificate:

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the Principle and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)

This course for those who need to know about assessment but who are not currently practicing e.g. aspiring assessors or quality managers.

Course Duration: - This Award can be achieved by participating in our one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion with your allocated TAQA assessor tutor.

Course 3 - Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (9 credits) - £423.00 (fully inclusive)

This course covers 2 units of the Certificate:

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the Principle and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
  • Unit 2 - Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (6 credits)

This course for those who assess the achievement of competence in a work environment using some of the following assessment methods:

  • observation
  • examining work products
  • oral questioning
  • discussion
  • witness statements
  • learner statements

Course Duration: - This Award can be achieved by participating in our one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of work product evidence.

Course 4 - The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Related Achievement (9 credits) - £423.00 (fully inclusive)

This course covers 2 units of the Certificate:

  • Unit 1 - Understanding the Principle and Practices of Assessment (3 credits)
  • Unit 3 - Assessing Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding (6 credits)

This course for those who assess achievement in vocational - related situations e.g. classrooms or workshops and who use some of the following assessment methods:

  • assessment in simulated environments
  • skills tests
  • oral and written questions
  • assignments
  • projects
  • case studies

Course Duration: - This Award can be achieved by participating in our one day workshop and is assessed by professional discussion, workplace observation and a portfolio of workplace evidence.

Update Training - £64.00 (fully inclusive)

You can update your existing assessor qualification by attending our one day workshop. Learners will receive a certificate of attendance and resources to support a review of best practice in their workplace.
